OLEAN GENERAL HOSPITAL GUNDLAH DENTAL CENTER DENTAL SEALANT PROGRAM
A dentist and hygienist from the Gundlah Dental Center will be coming to Washington West, East View and Intermediate Middle School to offer dental care for students in grades 3, 4, and 5.
Children who enroll in this program will receive an exam, a fluoride treatment and possibly sealants. Sealants are placed on the biting surfaces of permanent teeth to help prevent tooth decay.
Information is being mailed to parents. If you are interested in taking advantage of this program, be sure to return the form to school.
IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENT FOR ENTERING 6TH GRADE
Your child will need to have a Tdap immunization for entrance into 6th grade in the fall. Please make arrangements with your physician to receive this vaccination. It is given at either age 10 or 11. When your child receives the Tdap, please send a copy of the record to school or have your physician fax it to OIMS School Nurse at (716)375-8096.
Thank you for your attention to this very important immunization regulation.
Does your child need glasses?
If your child needs glasses and you do not have health insurance or your insurance does not cover vision, contact your School Nurse. Through a program offered by the National Association of School Nurses, you may qualify for a gift certificate for a free eye exam and glasses with local optometrists.
