Dental Care at School
A dentist and hygienist from the Gundlah Dental Center will be coming to Washington West, East View and OIMS this school year. Students in grades 2 through 6 may enroll in this program. Students will receive an exam, a fluoride treatment and possibly sealants. Sealants are placed on the biting surface of permanent teeth to help prevent tooth decay. Students with dental problems will be referred to their own dentist.
Forms will be coming home with students. Please return them to the School Nurse at your child’s school if you would like your child to participate in this free program.
Does your child need glasses?
If your child needs glasses and you do not have health insurance or your insurance does not cover vision, contact your School Nurse. Through a program offered by the National Association of School Nurses, you may qualify for a gift certificate for a free eye exam and glasses with local optometrists.
