  • Notice of Public Hearing
    The Public Hearing on the Olean City School District's proposed 2016-17 budget will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in the Olean Intermediate Middle School LGI room.

    Kindergarten Registration will be held March 29 and 30 at Washington West and March 31 and April 1 at East View Elementary.  You must preregister for this event, click here for more details.

  • Board of Education and Budget Vote

    The Olean City School District's annual board election and budget vote will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Olean Intermediate Middle School, 401 Wayne Street, for the purpose of electing two members to the Olean Board of Education and voting on the Olean City School District's 2016-2017 annual budget. The election of members of the Board of Education shall be held to fill two (2) positions on the Board. One (1) position is to be for a five (5) year term commencing on July 1, 2016, and terminating on June 30, 2021, created by the expiration on June 30, 2016 of the term of member John Bartimole. One (1) position is to be for a five (5) year and 44 day term commencing on May 18, 2016, and terminating on June 30, 2021, due to a vacancy created by the resignation of Paul Knieser.

    Candidates for the office of Member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition. Nominating petitions are now available. Each petition shall be directed to the Clerk of the District, shall be signed by at least 100 qualified voters of the District, shall state the residence of each signer, and shall be filed in the Office of the Clerk of the District between the hours of 9:00 a.m. Prevailing Time and 5:00 P.M. Prevailing Time not later than April 27, 2016.

    For those registered voters unable to vote in person on the day of the May 17th election for reasons such as hospitalization, out of area on business, military service, vacations, imprisonment, or outside of area college attendance, applications for absentee ballots may be obtained from the Olean City School District Clerk's office during regular business hours. If you have questions regarding any of these matters, please contact the Clerk of the Olean Board of Education at 375-8018.

  • Inspection and/or Request of Records
    District records are available for inspection at no cost to the public. Copies are available at the statutorily permitted duplication fee of $.25 per page by check or money order made payable to the Olean C. Requests for inspection must be in writing and addressed to the Records Access Officer via regular or electronic mail or facsimile. The Records Access Officer will acknowledge receipt and provide the requestor with the District staff person's name, title, and phone number to schedule an appointment at a mutually convenient date and time for inspection. Records or portions thereof which are prohibited from disclosure pursuant to FOIL will be redacted or omitted; the requestor will be notified of the reason(s) for the redaction(s) and of the procedures to appeal to the Commissioner of Education. Inspection of records are by appointment between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
