  • Dear 6th and 7th Grade Families,

I want to thank all of you for your patience, help and understanding during this remote learning time frame. Words cannot express enough my gratitude for all of your efforts.

The 2019-2020 school year is winding down and we will have our locker bag pickup and laptop drop off on Tuesday, June 16th for our sixth grade students and on Wednesday, June 17th for our seventh grade students. We will distribute both days from 10:00-1:00 p.m. This will be an open 3 hour window when you can show up at any time to collect your child’s belongings. We ask that you stay in your vehicle and pull up to the designated area. School personnel will ask you  your child’s name and then hand back all of their locker contents.

I would like to ask all of you for a favor. If you would make sure your child’s name is in the clear pocket located on the outside of the computer bag as well as on a piece of paper inside the computer bag we would appreciate it.  This will speed up the flow of our collection process.

Once again thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us thorough out this crazy, pandemic school year.  The last day of learning is June 15th,  please encourage your student to complete any unfinished work by that date. We look forward to seeing you next Tuesday and Wednesday. Enjoy your weekend and Go Huskies!

  • Hello OIMS Families,

I hope this letter finds you and your family well.  I have some end-of-year information I would like to share with you at this time.

Wednesday, June 10th, will be the last day of new academic material for 6th and 7th grade students.  Teachers will use June 11th through June 15th as a period to help students make up missing work or to supply enrichment materials. Monday, June 15th, is the official last day for students.

Our plan for students and families to pick up their belongings will be as follows:  Tuesday, June 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 6th grade families can retrieve their belongings from OIMS.  Our 7th grade pick-up day will be on Wednesday, June 17th, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  We ask that our students return all school materials on those assigned days.  These materials include laptops, chargers, textbooks, IRLA books, library books and musical instruments.  We are hoping that school yearbooks will be available to you at this time.

We will be drawing two winners for $20 Olean Chamber Gift Certificates for both 6th and 7th grade students through our Great Rewards Program.  All winners will be contacted by the school district.

OIMS will be holding a remote summer school for 6th and 7th grade students.  If you need to attend summer school our guidance department will be in touch with you after June 15th.

Once again, we miss everyone!  Please stay healthy, and contact us if you need anything.

    Thank you,

    Mr. Trietley
