    Mrs. Snyder began her teaching career at Olean City Schools in 1999 after her graduation from Houghton College with a Bachelor of Music degree. While at Houghton she had the honor of being the assistant conductor of the College Philharmonia under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Hijleh. Originally from Binghamton, NY, Mrs. Snyder began violin studies at age 7; she also studied piano and guitar.

    Mrs. Snyder received a Masters degree in Music Education from SUNY at Fredonia. She is a substitute for the Olean String Quartet and a member of the Southern Tier Symphony. She resides in Olean with her husband and two children.

    Mrs. Christa Stein

    Mrs. Stein received a Bachelor’s of Music Education and a Masters of Music from Roberts Wesleyan College, where she was a double voice and clarinet major. She also started piano lessons at age 6, and began taking lessons from a piano professor at Roberts Wesleyan while in high school. She has accompanied numerous church choirs, school choruses and performances.

    She began her teaching career in 2004 at Naples Central School. During her 8 years in Naples, she taught 4th- 6th grade general music, chorus, band and jazz band. Mrs. Stein began teaching at OIMS in the fall of 2016, where currently she teaches 6th grade general music and 6th and 7th grade chorus.

    Mrs. Stein lives in Allegany with her husband and three children.
