Olean City School District

As the Director of Special Education for the Olean City School District, my professional objective is to provide strong leadership that is committed to instilling a lifetime love of learning in every student and adult.  I believe that every child can succeed and should be encouraged to think deep, work hard and strive for their personal best.

I would like this website to be a resource for parents, teachers, students, and community members.  It will explain what special education is, how a child is classified and what services are available.  It will explain the Committee on Special Education, the Committee on Pre-School Special Education and 504 plans and services as well.  This site will also list links to helpful websites along with some acronyms that are commonly used in our field.  The pages are listed to the left so click on the ones that you are interested in.  If you would like to see anything added to this site, please contact me with your suggestions.

Our offices are located at the Olean High School.  Our door faces Reed Street and it's near the corner of 4th Street.  We have reserved parking spots for visitors to our offices.  If you park in one of these spots, we ask that you put the sign that we mail you on your dashboard while you are in our offices.  If a sign was not mailed to you, please stop in and ask for one.  This will ensure that you do not get a ticket if you are there for a lengthy period of time.  We also have a red sign on our door letting you know that it's the offices of Pupil Services: CSE, CPSE, and Psychology. 

The field of Special Education is ever-changing.  Programs and services are now in place to help level the playing field for those in need.  The entire process, however, can still be overwhelming and intimidating.  My staff and I offer our support to you.  Please let us know what we can do to help you and your family on your journey.
