  • Susan DaPolito Jadlowski
    OHS Class of 1971

    Susan DaPolito Jadlowski, a 1971 graduate of Olean High School, followed her personal passion and commitment to the medical field.

    Following graduation from St. Francis Hospital in Olean, she began her career as a licensed practical nurse, and later completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. While working full time as a registered nurse, she attended the University of Texas Health Science Center and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, with Summa Cum Laude honors, while being presented with the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Award. Upon receiving a full grant from the Sheltering Arms Society, DaPolito Jadlowski went on to complete her Master’s Degree in Nursing and Administration, also receiving Summa Cum Laude honors.

    Mrs. Da Polito Jadlowski credits Olean teachers and the Olean community as setting a foundation for her future success, and has continued to give back to others, mentoring nurses and other medical professionals in the continuation of their education and advocating for the rights of patients throughout the entirety of her career. She has served in several positions in the medical field, including Associate Administrator, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In 2014 she was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. Susan guided Memorial Hermann Northwest to many prestigious honors, including a top ranking among Houston hospitals by US News and World Report. Mrs. Da Polito Jadlowski was named one of 20 outstanding nurses by the Texas Nurses Association for her contributions to not only the medical field as a whole, but overall growth of the nursing profession.

Steven Pancio II
  • Steven Ives Pancio II
    OHS Class of 2005

    Steven Ives Pancio II was a National Honor Society member, three sport athlete, four year class president and graduate of the Olean High Class of 2005.

    Following graduation, Dr. Pancio went on to demonstrate significant academic accomplishments in the orthopedic surgery field. A 2009 Phi Beta Kappa member and Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University at Buffalo, he received his Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences, as well as the SUNY Buffalo Chancellors’ Award for Student Excellence. In May of 2013, Dr. Pancio received his Doctor of Medicine with Summa Cum Laude honors, along with the coveted SUNY Buffalo’s Medical Alumni Association Dean’s Award for participation in extracurricular activities while maintaining a high standard of academic excellence.

    Dr. Pancio’s accolades also include the 2009 SUNY Buffalo’s Dorothy H. Mass Community Engagement Award, the 2013 Dr. Benjamin and Lila Obletz Award for Academic Achievement and Interest in Orthopedic Surgery, as well as membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Richard Sarkin/Emeritus Faculty Chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. In 2014, Dr. Pancio was accepted into the world renowned Mayo Clinic of Orthopedic Surgery Program.

    Dr. Pancio has also contributed to several community volunteer programs, including the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Western New York, donating his time to helping to mentor local youth.
