Over the next couple weeks we will be looking at solving quadratic equations algebraically, meaning with equations instead of graphs:
Watch this video: Quadratic Formula Introduction
Watch Video with Mr. DeGolier and take notes: Notes 10.4
Notes: Section 10.4 Notes
Complete: Quadratic Formula Practice
Due Next Monday at 8 am!

Watch this video: Types of functions 9.6
Complete this assignment: Types of Functions
These will be due by Monday at 8am!
(for week of 5/4-5/8):
I have some cool news... My wife and I had our baby Last Friday! His name is samuel and he weighed 8.04lbs (and has shoulders like a linebacker)
I am going to go a little light this week because my house is pretty busy, plus this will give some of you the chance to make up some work from past weeks.
Please watch this video: Vertex, Axis of symmetry, and roots
Complete this assignment: Characteristics of Parabolas
This will be dueFriday 5/8!
(for the week of 4/27-5/1):
This week we will focus on shifting the parabolas horizontally and Vertically in sections 3 and 4 of the unit.
A copy of the notes is posted below entitled "Unit 8 Notes"
*** assignments will be due on Friday, May 1st.
Last week's assignments (4/20 - 4/24):
This week we are starting new material and jumping to Unit 9 which is on our final function type, Quadratic Functions!
Here are our typical class notes for you to either print and fill in by hand, or download and fill out electronically: Unit 9 Notes
Here are two assignments for this week (due Friday): Homework 9.1 (only part a)
Homework 9.2 (only part a)
Assignments (4/13 through 4/17):
Watch: Graphing Inequalities Video (More videos to come later in the week (I might even make an appearance!)
Here is a link to desmos.com where you can utilize a graphing calculator if you do not have yours with you: GRAPHING CALCULATOR
I made a screen recording video to show you the best way to utilize Desmos to answer questions, this will also make it easier to submit assignments requiring a graph.
Here it is: Desmos and 4.5
Here is a link to graph paper if you would like to use it when you are making graphs... you do not need to use this but it is an option: Graph Paper
*** If you do not have a ruler for this any straight edge will work. Remember to shade one side or the other of your lines!!! (that is what makes it an inequality) Also be aware of when each line is dotted or solid!
For the week of 4/6 through 4/10 here is what I have for you:
Watch: Exponential Decay Video
Complete: Exponential Decay Practice
Here is another exponential video to help you along: Exponential Word Problems Video
Remember to email me with any questions you have as you work through this. My email is email@example.com. This assignment should be submitted to me by 8 am Monday morning. Thanks guys, hope you all are doing well and enjoying extra time with your families!
