8th Grade Washington Club

    The History Department at Olean High School, led by Mrs. Katie Wolfgang, is excited about inviting our 8th grade students on a class trip to Washington, DC from March 26-28, 2025. Working in collaboration with Explorica by WorldStrides Tour Company, students will travel by coach bus from Olean for a three-day, two-night tour of our nation’s capital.   

    To qualify for this trip, students must meet the following criteria:

    • Less than 12 unexcused absences ​ 

    • No out-of-school suspensions and fewer than 3 days of in-school suspension ​ 

    • Less than 5 discipline referrals​ 

    • No truancy from school for any period of time​ 

    • Be in good academic standing (passing all classes with a 65% or better) 

    Families are responsible for the non-refundable $99 enrollment fee on the Explorica website, (visit Explorica.com and use the code Wolfgang-9989), then choose “Manual Payment Plan”. This district will pay the remaining cost of the trip online, but families must reimburse $201 of the remaining cost by January 1, 2025. The total cost for each student is therefore $300. Fundraising opportunities will be available this fall.
