- Olean High School
- Overview
-
The TV Studio produces a daily morning announcement program that is broadcast through the High School’s closed circuit television system. The daily program contains announcements for the staff and students, features accomplishments in the classrooms and programs at the school, plus provides for individual student recognition. The television studio offers a great opportunity to students thinking about a career in communications or broadcast journalism to see the time and planning needed to produce a live daily television show.
The Morning Show is a 5-minute live broadcast “live from the basement of Olean High” produced by students every morning. These dedicated students must be at school 15 minutes before the bell rings to prepare for the broadcast. Their technical skills as well as on air personalities are one of the more visible parts of the high school extra curricular activities.
BOCES has a 2-year vocational program in Radio and TV where students can further study the television media.
