• Board of Education Student Member Selection Process

In the spring of each school year, the Superintendent appoints up to two high school Juniors/rising Seniors to serve the Board of Education for a one-year term for the following school year. The student members function as advisory board members and do not have voting rights. The students are not able to participate in closed sessions. This document outlines the selection process and contains a copy of the application.

Benefits: The student representatives will gain a wide array of leadership skills that can strengthen future college applications and/or resumes.

Time requirements: The student representative on the school board will attend all regular school board meetings while school is in session, typically the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 8:00 p.m. The exact schedule and other information about the board is available at https://www.oleanschools.org/domain/11
